Intelligence & Compliance ("I&C," "we," "us") publishes a weekly briefing on AI governance, policy, and risk frameworks at intelligenceandcompliance.com and by email. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website, the newsletter, and any related content or services (together, the "Service").By subscribing to the newsletter, creating an account, purchasing a paid subscription, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
I&C provides curated news, analysis, commentary, and editorial content about AI regulation, compliance frameworks, and related policy developments. The Service is delivered through our website and by email via our publishing platform, Beehiiv. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including the publishing schedule, section structure, or availability of any content.
This one matters, so read it. The Service provides general information and editorial commentary only.
Nothing in the Service constitutes legal advice, regulatory advice, compliance advice, financial advice, or any other form of professional advice, and nothing in the Service creates an attorney-client, advisor-client, or similar professional relationship between you and I&C or its authors. Regulations, deadlines, enforcement positions, and official guidance change frequently and vary by jurisdiction. Content is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of its publication date and is not updated after publication. Before acting on anything you read in the Service, consult qualified legal counsel or other appropriate professional advisors, and verify all dates, thresholds, and obligations against the primary sources we link.
Free tier. You may subscribe to the free edition of the newsletter by providing a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping that address current.
Paid tiers. We offer paid subscription tiers (currently Pro and Team/Enterprise) with additional content and features. Pricing, tier contents, and features are described at the point of purchase and may change prospectively. Changes will not affect a subscription period you have already paid for.
Billing. Paid subscriptions are billed through our payment processor (Stripe, via Beehiiv) on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected) until cancelled. By purchasing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method.
Cancellation. You may cancel a paid subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to paid content through the end of that period.
Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge.
Accuracy of account information. You agree to provide accurate information when subscribing and to use the Service only on your own behalf, unless you hold a Team/Enterprise subscription that covers additional named users.
All content in the Service, including text, analysis, curation, compilations, the "Do this" takeaways, design, logos, and the I&C name and lettermark, is owned by I&C or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
What you may do:
Read and use the content for your own personal or internal business purposes.
Forward an individual newsletter edition to a colleague in its original form.
Quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link to the source edition.
What you may not do without our prior written permission:
Republish, redistribute, or resell the Service or any substantial portion of it.
Share paid-tier content outside your own organization, or distribute login credentials.
Systematically copy, scrape, or archive the Service, including for training machine learning or AI models.
Remove attribution or present our content as your own.
Team/Enterprise subscriptions include internal-distribution rights as described in the applicable plan terms.
The Service links extensively to third-party sources, including government publications, regulatory texts, and legal analyses. We do not control those sources and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or availability. A link is not an endorsement. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their own terms.
You agree not to:
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or the servers and networks that host it.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to paid content or other subscribers' accounts.
Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service, except standard search engine indexing of public pages.
Misrepresent your affiliation with I&C.
We may suspend or terminate access for any violation of these Terms.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.We work to keep the content accurate and to link primary sources, but we do not warrant that the Service is error-free, that regulatory information is current after its publication date, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or secure.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, I&C AND ITS AUTHORS, OWNERS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless I&C and its authors, owners, and service providers from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
Our collection and use of personal information (such as your email address and subscription data) is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The newsletter is delivered via Beehiiv, whose processing of subscriber data is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.
You may stop using the Service and unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter edition. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or where required by law. Sections 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, and 14 survive termination.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, provide notice by email or on the website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may seek relief in small claims court where eligible.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any plan-specific terms presented at purchase, are the entire agreement between you and I&C regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a sale or reorganization of the publication.
